From that moment it was a great success and for many years the\u00a0<strong>Andagna Mid-August<\/strong>\u00a0was a symbol for the whole valley.<\/p><p>Originally the village festivals were related to the patron saint's celebration of\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 900;\">Saint Clementine<\/span>\u00a0which represented the only fun and dancing opportunity.<\/p><p style=\"font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The committee's creation and the moving of the festival in the days of Mid-August was a big news for the village's residents who were changing a consolidated tradition.<\/p><p style=\"font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In the first years, the festivals, always followed by hundreds of people, took place in the large square (\u00e0 Fascia) in the shadow of the centuries-old horse chestnut tree where the structures for the festivals were set up (stage, bar, track...). It was an open competition in which all participants chose a view of the village to be represented on canvas or paper during the day;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\">The&nbsp;<span style=\"font-weight: 900;\">children's games<\/span>, based on the age, were organized every year in August, creating competitions and challenges with traditional tug-of-war, chair games, skittles, sack race, obstacle courses .... A toy was given to all children as a prize and a souvenir of the day.<br><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\">Since 1998, children's games have been transformed into&nbsp;<\/span><em style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 900;\">Il Paese dei Balocchi<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-weight: 900;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\">&nbsp;(Land of Toys) an event that has been expanded with games and news over the years and now counts more than 30 attractions and the participation of hundreds of children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In 2009 took place the 1st competition of extemporary painting \"<em>Memorial Ing. For years the Proloco has been the only one to offer this kind of evenings designed specifically for young people, enriched by DJs and various animations and a special surveillance service.<\/p><p style=\"font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">With the creation and construction of a\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 900;\">professional kitchen<\/span>, as well as of the\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 900;\">big tend<\/span>\u00a0that has expanded indoor and outdoor seating, it was possible to extend the small gastronomy and organize real festivals with typical dishes. For some years, in addition to the usual dancing nights,\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 900;\">Latin American nights\u00a0<\/span>were organized with performances by professional dancers.<\/p><p>For many years Proloco brought Argentina to the Argentina Valley with the\u00a0<strong>Asado Festival<\/strong>, a typical Argentinean dish made with barbecued beef.<\/p><p>In 2013 a new event was born:\u00a0<strong>\"<\/strong><em><strong>E Lizzete de San Zane<\/strong><\/em><strong>\"<\/strong>(St. John's fireflies) an itinerant event among the farmyards and carruggi of the village, combined with the competition of bands\u00a0<strong>\"Belin, che a band!\"<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Other successful festival are the\u00a0<strong>Tajain e Cunigliu Festival<\/strong>which is a typical dish of the village, and the\u00a0<strong>Chestnut Festival<\/strong>, to remind the past years when the chestnut was the main source of nourishment for the locals.<\/p><p>The Proloco Andagna also offers its typical dishes around the valley and beyond, participating in numerous events such as the\u00a0<strong>Spring Festival<\/strong>, and the celebrations of St. John and Imperia.<\/p><p>Many were the presidents who had the pleasure, honor and responsibility to lead this fantastic association with success over the years. The first president was\u00a0<strong>Pietro Bracco<\/strong>\u00a0(Pier\u00ec) and the factotum secretary\u00a0<strong>Giorgio Longagnani<\/strong>\u00a0(Adriano).
